about the
artist -
Amber Ryann is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose work explores ancestry, memory, and the histories that shape our understanding of the present world. Working across mixed media, collage, music, photography, illustration, and physical archival processes, Ryann approaches art as the act of discovery and preservation. Her visual world is a vessel to follow curiosities into the truths, contradictions, and overlooked histories that deserve to remain at the forefront of contemporary conversation.
Across her work, Ryann is interested in what happens when history becomes physical. Her visual expression states that without preservation, fair representation, and art that shares the good and ugly, we end up repeating the same dark past without understanding how it became the blueprint for our future.
